Our Patron - Philippa Tomson - Someone Cares
Our (newly adopted) patron is Philippa Tomson, from ITV Tyne Tees.
Philippa Tomson co-anchors North East Tonight on ITV1 every week day at 6pm. 
Originally from York, Philippa trained as a newspaper journalist before making the leap into television. She joined ITV Central based in the West Midlands where she worked in all areas of television news including producing, presenting and reporting. She was also a freelance presenter on the 24-hour ITV News Channel.
In August 2006 she was offered the job of co-presenting North East Tonight and left the Midlands to move to the North East. She lives in Gateshead on the edge of the Northumberland countryside. Away from the cameras she loves being outdoors with her dog, skiing, running, reading and helping to support many charities in the region including Someone Cares.
